Boating safety agencies in Arizona, California and Nevada are teaming up to promote safety on the Colorado River, starting with a boating safety and life vest exchange at Fisherman’s Access park in Laughlin, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Boaters can trade in one old, worn or torn life jacket for a brand new one, while supplies last. State boating safety agencies, including the Arizona Game and Fish Department, California State Parks and the Nevada Department of Wildlife, will be on hand to talk about boating safety and specific requirements in each state. The kickoff coincides with National Ready, Set, Wear it Campaign, a yearly attempt to break the world record for life jacket wear at one time. Boaters who want a new life jacket are urged to come early, because supplies are limited.

The Nevada Department of Veterans Services Rural Outreach for Veterans Enrichment and Resources Program - known as ROVER - will be in Laughlin at Richard Springston Post 60 American Legion from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, to assist veterans with getting the benefits they deserve. The veterans service officer can assist individuals with starting a VA benefits claim, obtaining information about their benefits and cutting through the VA red tape. • Gabe Lopez is no stranger to the spotlight. He began doing stand-up in 2002, when he was given the opportunity to perform on open mic night at the Improv Comedy Club. After a few shows he was invited to Las Vegas to compete against hundreds of other stand-up comedians with only 4 months experience.
• Cory and Chad, A.K.A., The Smash Brothers are identical twins born and raised outside of Los Angeles. Having a “not so perfect upbringing” has helped them master their comedic act. If you ever wonder what it is like to be a twin, these two will show you.
• DJ Cooch is a Comedian, Actor and Disc Jockey. Baring many talents he has been associated with such names as Eddie Griffin, Carlos Mencia, Anjelah Johnson and Jo Koy. DJ Cooch was recently inducted into the Improv Wall of Fame, a very prestigious honor within the comedy world.
• Dustin Ybarra is one of comedy's rising stars whose show business career straddles both appearances in TV and movies; but his roots and his passion lies in his on-stage stand-up comedy routines in front of a live audience. This Mexican-American talent began his comedy career at the age of 16 in Bedford, Texas before making the often hard journey paying his dues as a comic first in New York and later Los Angeles. Dustin draws upon many sources for his comedy, from fast food to personal painful trials in his own life. Dustin is hilarious.
• Gary Cannon started his stand up career in San Francisco where he quickly became a local favorite. His first warm up gig in fact was at the Kilborn show. It was that show that lead to many others including Craig Ferguson, Carson Daly, Dancing w/ the Stars, Americas Got Talent to name a few. In addition to working with Steve, Gary is proud to say he has been to Iraq entertaining the troops!
• The Greg Wilson “Don’t sit in the front row!” Unless you want to have the time of your life. For The Greg Wilson, comedy isn’t just a show, it’s an EXPERIENCE. His anything-goes approach creates one-of-a-kind performances where the audience might wind up most of the night’s material! "If it ain’t GONZO, it’s just stand-up".
